Anne O'Connor began teaching afterschool art clubs at her children's school in January 2017, and officially launched The Schoolhouse Studio in December 2021.  Anne is a teacher, artist, graphic designer and mom of three, who discovered the joys of making art with kids while doing projects with her own children, and planning activities for their birthday parties.

In 2021, Anne recruited her husband Ed Lam to become a partner in the business.

Ed  is an illustrator and author, youth baseball coach, and crafty dad. He's locally famous for his traffic-stopping Halloween decorations and snow sculptures, and for creating elaborate Halloween costumes for his kids. As an unenthusiastic swimmer in a beach-going family, he has also honed his skills in sand sculpture, and in August 2025, he led our family team to victory at the Glen Island Park Sand Art Contest, and also won the People's Choice award at the Coney Island Sand Sculpting competition.

Over the last few years, with the help of our wonderful instructors, the Schoolhouse Studio's enrichment programs have expanded to over 25 locations in Westchester County and nearby areas.​​​​
